Terms of Use

About TypePets

TypePets is a free, open-source typing practice application designed for children. It runs entirely in your web browser.

Use

TypePets is provided free of charge for personal, educational use. You may use it to practice typing at home or in educational settings, including sharing classroom links with students.

No Warranty

TypePets is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make it work well, but cannot guarantee it will be error-free.

Data

All progress is stored locally on your device. If you clear your browser data, your progress will be lost unless you have a save code or a backup. A save code keeps a copy online and brings it back on any computer; a Pet Passport backup file is a copy you keep yourself. Save codes are a free convenience: keep yours safe, because anyone who has it can open that progress, and unused codes are deleted after 12 months.

Leaderboard

The weekly leaderboard is just for fun and is optional. Please only count real practice: we may remove leaderboard entries whose scores look made up, and we may reset the board.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, we may use your ideas to improve TypePets without any obligation to you. Please don't include personal information in your message. See the privacy policy for what the feedback form sends and how long we keep it.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of TypePets after changes indicates acceptance of the new terms.
